Nearly 80% of STR hosts are saying ‘no’ to traditional property managers – Hospitable

🏡 In San Francisco, April 15, 2025, Hospitable's research indicates 79.7% of independent short-term rental (STR) hosts prefer not hiring property management companies (PMCs) for the next year. High PMC costs (82.2%) and the desire for direct control (58.4%) are major reasons. Over one in eight hosts returned to self-management due to dissatisfaction, aiming for greater guest interaction control (63.7%) and higher profitability (54.7%).
