📊 Jul 18, 2025: The State of Distribution 2025 report by HEDNA, NYU’s Tisch Center, and RateGain analyzes 700 hotel brands, revealing manual processes and fragmented systems as key obstacles. Booking channels are nearly evenly split: OTAs, direct digital, voice, GDS, and walk-ins each capture around 19-21% of bookings. 80% of hotels spend up to two days weekly on manual reporting. AI adoption is low due to ROI uncertainties. Success hinges on integrated strategies, not increased tech use.

Me, my brand and AI: Accenture Consumer Pulse Research 2025

  • Automatic
  • 16 July 2025
🤖 AI agents are transforming consumer interactions, with browser-based tools like Mariner and Operator making autonomous decisions and purchases. This shift requires brands to adapt by appealing to both human and AI "shoppers" to avoid losing awareness and search traffic. 🗺 Jul 16, 2025: Two days of negotiations in the EU between Google, travel stakeholders, and the EU Commission ended without agreement on Google's travel search results under the Digital Markets Act. Two proposed formats: “Intermediary-first layout” prioritizes Booking.com, while a “Separate box for direct sellers” offers hotel links. Hotels find themselves at a disadvantage as the focus remains on intermediaries. A lack of resolution could lead to significant fines for Google, impacting the travel booking market.
