Business travel confidence slips amid U.S. policy shifts
📌 A Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) poll dated Apr 21, 2025, reports a plunge in business travel optimism, with only 31% of respondents positive about future prospects, a steep decline from 67% in November 2024. In 2025, 27% of buyers predict a 20% spending drop, and 29% expect trip volumes to dip by 21%. Concerns include higher costs (54%), visa hurdles (46%), and safety (37%). Furthermore, 13% scrapped U.S. meetings, while 10% canceled or considered canceling U.S. travel. Despite these figures, over 75% won't cancel or move meetings. Travel management companies foresee a 37% chance of revenue declines, averaging 18%.
