Radisson Hotel Group to open The Medlock at Manchester City’s Etihad Campus

🏨 The Medlock, a new 401-room hotel by Radisson Hotel Group, is slated to open in late 2026 in Manchester as part of Manchester City Football Club's £300 million expansion of the Etihad Campus. Under Radisson Blu, it will cater to sports fans, concertgoers, and business travelers near Etihad Stadium and Co-op Live, the UK's largest indoor arena. It will feature suites, deluxe rooms, a luxury penthouse, dining options, a roof walk, museum experience, and office space. Valor Hospitality will operate The Medlock, joining Radisson's global portfolio of 1,520 hotels.

EXTENDAM sells Residence Inn Didot Montparnasse after successful repositioning

Marriott International achieves record growth in 2024 across EMEA

🏨 Marriott International celebrated a milestone year in 2024, achieving 291 hotel signings across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), leading to a 7% net increase in rooms. Notable properties include Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn in Europe, expansions by Luxury Collection Hotels in Munich and Nice, Moxy Hotels entering Spain and Luxembourg, and W Prague. The EMEA development pipeline reached 596 properties with 104,731 rooms, a 10% growth from the previous year, with 45% of new signings as conversions. Over 80 hotels are in the luxury segment pipeline, including 26 new luxury hotel contracts, 50 signings for Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, and Marriott Hotels, and 39 in the select segment. The company's residential portfolio in EMEA grew to 72 locations with 11 new branded residential projects. Marriott debuted in Angola and Senegal, and introduced the Ritz-Carlton Reserve to Saudi Arabia.

The Palace Madrid joins The Luxury Collection after restoration

🏦 The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Madrid, joins The Luxury Collection after a two-year restoration. Originally The Westin Palace, Madrid, it retains its 1912 heritage with an 8,000-square-meter façade renovated by Ruiz Larrea Arquitectura. The stained-glass dome with 1,875 panels by Eduardo Ferrés i Puig and the lobby's glass palm-tree chandelier are restored. The hotel has 470 rooms and suites, dining at La Cúpula under the dome, featuring dishes named after famous guests, and the 27 Club cocktail bar, inspired by the Generation of 27 literary movement. Marriott Bonvoy® members gain access to exclusive benefits at the hotel, located in the UNESCO-listed Barrio de las Letras, close to cultural sites like the Prado Museum and Retiro Park.

Kempinski Hotels names Karin Raguin as Chief Human Resources Officer

Kempinski's CEO Barbara Muckermann anticipates Raguin's role in talent development to be vital for sustainable growth, overseeing Kempinski's 19,000 employees globally. 🏨 Ennismore set to open over 20 hotels and 35+ restaurants and bars globally in 2025. Europe to see SLS Barcelona early 2025, The Hoxton Florence with 161 rooms, including a three-bedroom “House” concept. In mid-2025, Mama Shelter Zürich and The Hoxton Edinburgh, followed by The Hoxton Dublin in late 2025. Asia Pacific expansions include Mondrian Gold Coast, Hyde Perth, 25hours Hotel Sydney, and Mama Shelter Singapore all scheduled for mid-2025. Americas will welcome SLS Playa Mujeres, Cancún in January 2025, and Delano Miami Beach in late-2025. Middle East & India openings feature Rixos Montaza Alexandria, Rixos Radamis Sharm El Sheikh's second phase, Rixos Obhur Jeddah, and Rixos in King Abdullah Economic City all in 2025, with Mondrian Abu Dhabi and SLS Red Sea in late-2025. Ennismore is also launching new dining concepts in partnership with Paris Society and Rikas Group.

Meliá Hotels & Resorts to open new property in Venice

Hotel Meierhof Davos joins Handwritten Collection
