George Hotel in Inveraray rescued out of administration for £3.05m

🏨 Charlie Maclachlan and Sam Wignell purchased the historic 24-room George Hotel in Inveraray, Scotland, from Inveraray Inn Ltd's administrators for £3.05 million on March 28. The acquisition saves 43 jobs. The hotel, located on one acre by Loch Fyne, has won multiple awards. The Clark family, who owned it for seven generations, supported the sale. Fire destroys historic Droitwich hotel

🔥 The historic Raven Hotel in Droitwich was engulfed by a major fire on Sunday, 10 August, around 16:45. Eight fire engines from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service responded, controlling the fire by evening. No casualties occurred. The 150-year-old, Grade II-listed building was formally listed on 24 October 1951. The hotel ceased trading in 2010 and was slated for redevelopment in 2022. Investigations by fire officers and West Mercia Police are ongoing to determine the cause.
