May 2025: Europe’s major markets are not the outperformers

🏨 Latvia saw a 17.9% increase in RevPAR in May 2025, with a TO rise of 6.3 points. Greece's RevPAR rose by 14.9%, with occupancy up 9.8 points. Austria's RevPAR increased by 14.8%, helped by an 11.3% rise in average daily rates. Poland and Germany reported RevPAR increases of 13.2% and 11.9%, respectively. Overall, European hotel occupancy averaged 74.9%, driven by public holidays and MICE activity. In contrast, the UK experienced a 1.8% drop in RevPAR.

Launching during Edinburgh's festival season, it offers affordable, comfortable accommodation. For a limited time, £1 per guest stay is donated to Action Against Hunger. Garner Hotels, launched in 2023, now has 23 properties open and 94 in development.

May 2025: the French hotel industry continues to face headwinds

📅 May 2025 saw a mixed performance in France's hotel industry. Occupancy dipped slightly by 0.3 points. Entry-level hotels faced declines, with low-cost segments down by 2 points, and budget by 0.8 points. Midscale and upscale segments rose by 0.6 and 2.2 points. International tourism revenue hit €4.1 billion, up 25.4%. Germans, Dutch, and Spanish tourists surged by 25%, 24%, and 15% respectively. The average daily rate increased by 2.4%, driven by a 3.7% rise in upscale rates, while low-cost RevPAR fell 3.8%.

Pandox Consortium acquires shares in Dalata Hotel Group amid ongoing acquisition talks

Under Irish Takeover Rules, Pandox must decide on a firm offer by July 15, 2025. Dalata's Board is engaging with other acquisition proposals.
