Starwood Hotels: a new era for a global expansion

🏨 Starwood Hotels, under Barry Sternlicht’s leadership, celebrates its 10th anniversary by reverting to its original name and aims to continue global expansion with over 40 hotels across four continents. In 2025, openings include properties in Tokyo, Melbourne, and Copenhagen, with expansions in the Middle East and Southern Europe. 1 Hotels & Homes, since 2015, plans to open in Seattle (spring), Melbourne (mid-year), Copenhagen (summer), and Tokyo (autumn), and partners with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 100,000 trees in Los Angeles. Baccarat Hotels eyes growth in Rome, Florence, Dubai, Riyadh, and the Maldives, despite delays. Treehouse Hotels schedules openings in Manchester and Silicon Valley (both spring 2025), with more to come in Riyadh, Miami, and Adelaide. Starwood aims for LEED or BREEAM certifications and prioritizes sustainability, having reduced 46,612 tonnes of CO2 and recycled 3.4 million pounds of materials by 2024. Despite only 13 hotels currently operating and facing postponements, Sternlicht remains optimistic about the group's future.

Hyatt reorganises its management to support global growth

🏨 Hyatt Hotels Corporation restructures senior management for a brand-led approach. Marc Jacheet is appointed Group President for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME), starting 1 July 2025. Javier Águila becomes Chief Growth Officer on the same date, following his leadership in the EAME region's expansion since 2022 and recent appointment as President of the Inclusive Collection from 1 March 2025. Jim Chu, Chief Growth Officer since 2022, will transition to Head of Owner Relations on 1 July 2025, focusing on strengthening growth through owner and investor relations. Hyatt aims to structure development around five brand categories and capitalize on experienced leadership for accelerated growth.

Hilton taps into the luxury market in Paris

Mews accelerates its expansion with a new round of funding

Mondrian to debut in the Maldives

🏖 Ennismore set to launch Mondrian Maldives in 2026 on Kuredhivaru Island in Noonu Atoll. Initially operating as Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa, the transition retains bookings on ALL.com and Accor’s loyalty program ALL. The resort will feature 105 villas with private pools, including 30 beach pool villas, 72 overwater pool villas, and three-bedroom beach pool residences. Amenities include a luxury spa, fitness center, sports facilities, a diving center, multiple pools, a kids’ club, and 4 dining venues. Mondrian has properties in Los Angeles, Miami, Doha, Mexico City, and Ibiza, with expansions to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Tulum, and Australia’s Gold Coast.

HR Group expands its portfolio with the acquisition of H-Hotels
