🏨 The Newman Hotel, by Kinsfolk and Co, hired its first graduate group in July via a month-long training scheme with Saira Hospitality. Located in London, the hotel recruited 40% more graduates than planned, including guest service agents, room attendants, bartenders, and chefs. Charities like Breaking Barriers and local career services in Camden and Westminster referred candidates. The program aimed to foster industry diversity and progress, benefiting participants like Seynabou, now a front desk agent.

🏖️ The Grand, York will open its new spa, SubRosa, in December after a £2.5 million refurbishment. Offering three experiences: Rosa (full day with 60-minute treatment and Rasul ritual), Alba (half day with 50-minute treatment and lunch), and Radix (evening with dinner and champagne), the spa integrates innovative wellness technologies. This opening follows the appointment of spa director Emma Sorby in November 2024. The hotel is part of Splendid Hospitality Group, which owns 24 hotels.

📍 US: The Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, a 116-year-old landmark, reopened after a $57 million renovation. Now part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio, the hotel features 311 rooms, including 30 suites and 14 ADA rooms. It includes a rooftop pool, 20,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and cultural amenities like a recording studio and a vinyl library. New dining options include Jots, Keystone Club, Bar 414, and Paris Baguette. The reopening will continue through 2025.

🏨 IHG acquired Kimpton in 2015, preserving its boutique charm. Kimpton's first hotel was Clarion Bedford, San Francisco. Notable locations include Kimpton Main Frankfurt and Kimpton Margot Sydney. The chain offers unique dining and pet-friendly perks. Kimpton's global expansion includes properties in Spain, Portugal, and Indonesia. Guests enjoy free wine hours and local dining experiences. Recent initiatives feature tattoos from Tiny Zaps in U.S. hotels. Kimpton emphasizes regional influences and personalized experiences, maintaining its distinct ethos.

🏨 Marriott International and Hawkins Way Capital are converting five U.S. properties, located in Miami, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Chicago, and San Diego, to the Series by Marriott brand. This move marks the brand's U.S. debut. The properties, originally under FOUND Hotels, will transition within a year. Series by Marriott, launched in May, allows independent hotels to join Marriott’s network while retaining brand identity. Marriott Bonvoy boasts over 230 million members globally.

📍 Elmore Hotel opened in Southlake, Texas, managed by Coury Hospitality under NewcrestImage ownership. The hotel, originally built in 2016, features 175 rooms across four floors, following a year-long, multi-million-dollar renovation. It is now part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio. The hotel offers 5,000 sq. ft. of event space, a fitness center, and dining at Sagewind restaurant and Social Outlaw speakeasy. Located 10 minutes from DFW Airport and walking distance to Southlake Town Square.

🍷 On September 13, The Popal Group launched Maison Bar à Vins, their fifth restaurant in Washington, D.C.'s Adams Morgan neighborhood. This French-inspired venue, located in a 19th-century brownstone, offers three distinct floors: a 12-seat bar on the first, a reservation-only dining room on the second, and private dining spaces on the third. The menu, crafted by chefs Matt Conroy and Jason Chavenson, features French dishes, complemented by a wine and cocktail program emphasizing organic and unique selections.

🏨 Avi Brosh’s Palisociety has expanded its Le Petit Pali brand to St. Helena, Napa Valley, marking the fifth location. The new property spans nearly three acres with 29 guestrooms, including five standalone cottages. It offers a mix of California and European charm, featuring a main house, garden bar, pool, and spa. By 2043, IHG aims for over 250 global Ruby locations. The brand is designed for urban settings with new build, conversion, and adaptive reuse options. Ruby offers standardized rooms with amenities like rainfall showers and 24/7 bars. IHG sees strong U.S. market potential for Ruby's lifestyle-focused hotels.

The Series by Marriott brand was announced in May 2025.
