Phocuswright predicts steady growth for travel in 2025

Gross bookings to rise from $1.6 trillion in 2024 to $1.72 trillion in 2025. Online bookings predicted to hit $1.0 trillion in 2024 and $1.2 trillion in 2026, with 65% of travel bookings online by 2026. Airline revenue growth may slow to 10% in 2024, hotels to see 55% online booking market share in 2024, rising to 58% in 2026. North America to lead gross bookings with $543.8 billion in 2024, reaching $568.5 billion in 2025. UK to overtake France in gross bookings by 2025. Travelers show higher confidence in booking accommodations than transportation for the next 12 months. European leisure travel to stay robust, with many planning international trips.

🏠 Trafalgar St. James, a 5-star lifestyle hotel in central London, reveals its luxury refurbishment's first stage with the new Rockwell Bistro & Wine Bar and a redesigned lobby. The £6m renovation includes six new suites set to be unveiled in February 2025, adding to the hotel’s current 131 rooms. Rockwell offers a day-to-night experience with specialty coffee, all-day deli-style dishes, and a curated wine list. Design LSM crafted the contemporary interiors. Tripadvisor Shares Top 2025 Travel Destinations

Kasa opens new hotel in San Deigo’s Little Italy

Guests can select from five room types, including studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, with some providing bay views. Amenities feature fitness centers, yoga and Pilates studios, a sauna, a massage room, and an upcoming outdoor pool. CEO Roman Pedan emphasizes unique developments and exceptional stays with unmatched amenities. Kasa expanded to New Orleans in late 2024, renovating the historic 1916 Lafayette Hotel into The Lafayette New Orleans by Kasa. The company currently operates over 85 properties across the U.S.

Bob W secures three new Munich properties from H’Otello/H’Apato in landmark deal

🏡 Bob W signed leases for three properties in central Munich, adding 198 units and 3,948 sq m to its German portfolio. On 8th January 2025, the tech-powered hospitality operator expanded in the DACH region by converting two hotels and an aparthotel into Bob W locations. The new additions bring Bob W's total in Germany to 15 buildings. The properties, operating under digital front desk and self-service check-in systems, are advised by Miles Knoll of BNP Paribas and Prof. Dr. Clemens Engelhardt of Trustberg. Bob W, operational in 18 cities across 10 countries, continues to grow with over €70 million in funding and over 4,000 units in its portfolio.
