TROBBU Boutique Collection, directed by Elías Barbosa, will open TROBBU Tulum in January 2025, offering 10 luxury villas in Mexico. Sean Brock’s fast-casual restaurant Joyland expands from Nashville to Birmingham, Ala., with more on the way

🍴 Award-winning chef Sean Brock opened Joyland's first location in Nashville in 2020; the second opened in Birmingham, Ala. in mid-August. The fast-casual restaurant serves biscuits, burgers, fried chicken, and features a popular Crustburger. The Birmingham location seats 84 inside and 49 on the patio. The menu includes items like breakfast burritos, biscuit sandwiches, and seasonal hand pies. Organic chicken is sourced from Springer Mountain Farm in Georgia, and Bear Creek Farm in Tennessee provides a proprietary beef blend. Joyland is in partnership with Nick Pihakis of Pihakis Restaurant Group and Southall Farm & Inn founder Paul Mishkin. More Joyland locations are expected to open in the South in the coming months.

CoStar: U.S. Hotel Industry Showed Mixed Performance During August

🏨 In August 2024, the U.S. hotel industry saw a year-over-year increase in occupancy by 1.5% to 66.9%, while the average daily rate (ADR) rose by 2.3% to $157.84, and revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased by 3.9% to $105.67. New York City led the Top 25 Markets with an occupancy spike of 5.2% reaching 87.3%, whereas New Orleans and Phoenix recorded the lowest occupancies at 54.1% and 58.4%, respectively. The Top 25 Markets outperformed others in both occupancy and ADR.
