???????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????. | Irina Smurovskaia | 103 comments

🗺️ Protests in Venice and Barcelona highlight overtourism issues: crowds, high prices, and short-term rentals displacing locals. While mass tourism has consequences, affordable travel was once a privilege, now more accessible. Critics urge for fewer tourists and higher prices, risking exclusivity rather than sustainability. Issues like unequal profit distribution and insufficient local ownership are systemic, not tourist-driven. Solutions should focus on stronger policies and regulation of big businesses rather than restricting individual behavior.
