The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari islands celebrates milestones in sustainability – achieves Forbes verified responsible hospitality badge and green globe certification in 2024
🏖️ The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands received the Forbes VERIFIED Responsible Hospitality badge and Green Globe Certification for sustainable practices in 2024. Over 105 coral frames have been planted to date, with 28 added in 2024. The resort uses PEFC-certified timber and achieved EDGE certification. A floating solar garden will contribute 1,400 kWp by 2025, and daily food waste of 726 kg is composted. The resort has completed 50 drone flights for ocean plastics monitoring in 2024, removing 418 kg of ghost nets. Eight educational excursions were conducted, and a Coral Adoption Project is launching soon.
